OUR
STORY

From humble beginnings to becoming a recognised, Bornmore Metals have a proud heritage that spans over 40 years of commitment to the metals industry.

Bornmore Metals have a proud heritage that spans over 40 years of commitment to the metals industry. Founded in Bury in 1980, Bornmore Metals quickly became established as a trusted supply partner for premium metal products offering superior levels of service and product quality.

Due to business expansions, Bornmore Metals head office and distribution centre has re-located to different premises and locations throughout the North-West of England - from Bury, to Heywood, to Blackburn – with the company’s success down to its longevity, depth of product range and high level of customer service.

our story

Over the years, Bornmore have become specialists in brass, supplying the architectural metalwork industry amongst others. Customers include pub chain Wetherspoons and exclusive restaurant The Ivy. In fact, if you go into traditional-type pubs and, more recently, modern contemporary bars, you will put your foot on the foot rail and there’s a good chance that will have come from Bornmore Metals.

Bornmore Metals also developed and grew organically into one of the major multi-metal stockholders in the UK, with a diverse range of non-ferrous metals including copper and bronze, and then adding stainless steel and aluminium into the portfolio, all whilst still offering superior levels of service and product quality.

Virtually all of our customers can call us before 5pm on any day and we'll deliver the material to them nationwide the next day.

In April 2019, Bornmore Metals became part of the Steel Dynamics Group – a family of four companies relentlessly working together to reduce our customer’s costs and enabling UK manufacturing to flourish.

With recent acquisitions, new premises, investments in capital equipment and significant stock holding in stainless steel, aluminium, copper and brass, it’s a great time to talk to the group about what we can do for you.
